Lexie Roth releases MOVE ME, a new EP featuring 5 original tracks written, performed, and co-produced by Roth. The EP also features performances by artists Lilah Larson, Ezra Miller, and Josh Aubin of the band Sons of an Illustrious Father; Nick Shopa, of Brooklyn-based Papertwin; and Mara Carlyle, London-based singer, songwriter, and instrumentalist.

MOVE ME is a mix of meditative mantras mixed with high energy drums and synth pop. Roth exhibits full command of her rich voice, moving gracefully between low, subtle melodies to belted high notes. Textured vocal harmonies and canons paired with musical saw, whistles, and playful guitar riffs make each catchy track on MOVE ME deeply absorbing and memorable. The sound is refreshingly clear.

"Recording with other stylistically unique artists took each track to a whole other level. The collaboration added fresh dimensions to the EP. I'm so proud of it. I can't stop listening to it." says Roth.

The synth-pop vibe of the EP is a departure from Roth's earlier blues/folk sound. "Before I started writing the tracks, I had these tunes in my head that were very melodic and hook-y," says Roth. "At the time, I also picked up drumming again, and those melodies started taking on a whole new energy and rhythm in my imagination. They were always pulsing through my mind, so by the time I put down the demos, they just burst out, almost spontaneously."

“Lexie's songwriting skills have reached new heights,” says Alex Salzman, who co-produced the EP. “The tasty addition of electronic elements combined with hypnotic electric guitars, a powerful rhythm section and inspiring vocal performances have delivered her finest and most interesting work yet.”

The EP is Roth’s first release since her 2012 full length eponymous album, which received critical acclaim. The song ‘Call You My Hon’ from that album was featured in the award-winning film “Maria My Love,” produced and directed by Jasmine McGlade. Roth took the album on a 25-city US tour with the band Sons of an Illustrious father in 2013. In 2014 she recorded a cover of the song ‘Vaya Con Dios’ for the Les Paul tribute album “Thank You Les”, which also featured Keith Richards, Jose Feliciano, Steve Miller, Slash, Billy Gibbons (ZZ Top), Eddie Brigati Jr. (The Young Rascals) among other music legends.

Raised between Westchester, New York and Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts, Roth grew up surrounded by music giants. Her father, virtuosic guitarist Arlen Roth, performed and recorded with the best artists of his generation, including Bob Dylan, Danny Gatton, John Entwistle, John Prine, James Taylor, Simon and Garfunkle, Ry Cooder, David Lindley, Sonny Landreth, Levon Helm, Bill Kirchen, The Bee-Gees. Duane Eddy, Steve Morse, Albert Lee and Phoebe Snow. As a teen, Lexie recorded three tracks on Arlen’s album, “Toolin' Around Woodstock”, including the song “Unchained Melody” with Levon and Amy Helm.
