RAC Announce Endless Summer Tour

RAC – CHAPTER 1 Compilation Out November 6 On RAC Records

RAC will kick off their ten day long Endless Summer Tour on November 8 in Costa Mesa, CA with three of the most sought after names in Indie Dance: Classixx, Cosmic Kids, and Jerome LOL. The four will be joining forces to co-headline a series of tour dates (presented by Red Bull Music Academy) up and down the west coast of North America this Fall.

There has been an emergence of underground dance parties where the lo-fi sounds of Indie Music has blurred the lines with the upbeat sing-along vocals of Pop. A movement has developed around this feel good sound thanks to singles like RAC's "Hollywood", Classixx's "I'll Get You", and LOL Boys "Changes". Songs that conjure memories of summer, they take you to a place that is nostalgic and warm.

RAC release a new compilation RAC – CHAPTER 1 with RAC Records on November 6. The album is a collection of their “best of” remixes from 2008 until now. It will be available as a full download (1 mix) and most tracks will be available as single downloads. RAC – CHAPTER 1 will also include the exclusive RAC mix of Classixx’s “Stranger Love”. You can download RAC’s mix of Mayer Hawthorne’s “No Strings Attached” HERE on Soundcloud.

RAC (pronounced Ar-Ay-Cee) have been reinventing the art of remixing and gathering widespread acclaim since the collective's creation in 2007. Andre Anjos of RAC strives to maintain a style of remixing that strays from the "club mix" archetype, creating new incarnations of songs that stem from the original structure, but expand on their genre and musical arrangement. The newest expansion of the RAC family is RAC DJs, a creative teaming of Andre Anjos and Karl Kling. With this, RAC takes its remix theory to the booth, altering and combining tracks on the fly, to create an engaging soundscape fed by crowd energy and live interaction.

BIO

Andre Anjos launched RAC while still a student at Greenville College, a small school of about 1,500 students in Southern Illinois, known primarily for its music program. “It was Thanksgiving break, 2006. I just started contacting people, and then for probably a good six months, trying to get some kind of remix job. I probably annoyed a lot of people.” A study in persistence, he finally got the ear of The Shins’ manager, who had never before been approached about a remix for the band, but was open to the idea. The subsequent “Sleeping Lessons” remix landed RAC a B-side on the band’s UK single.

“I was insanely lucky with that one,” Anjos says of The Shins’ gig. “I need to call them, and, like, thank them.” Since that break, RAC has climbed the indie ranks and gone on to remix some of the biggest artists in
the world, including Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Kings of Leon, and U2. Anjos has also become a much sought-after score- and sync-man. He has remixed and produced original music for television (Entourage, 90210, How To Make It In America), film (soundtrack for 2010 Sundance selection Holy Rollers), and advertisements – even landing a Super Bowl ad.

“It’s gone beyond just remixes,” Anjos says. “I’m doing all kinds of other things now.”

RAC’s debut original single, “Hollywood,” featured vocalist Penguin Prison and was released in the spring of 2012 via the Mountain Dew curated record label, Green Label Sound. The track immediately took off,
topping all four charts on Hype Machine at once, going to #1 on Elbo.ws and breaking all previous Green Label Sound download records in its first week. Likewise the cowboy-in-LA music video with a cameo by
Quentin Tarantino muse Rose McGowan and two remix packages including yet another Hype Machine chart topper by The Magician kept RAC in the spotlight throughout the summer and fall. RAC can currently be found preparing his debut artist album for release in 2013 as well as a compilation of greatest remix hits from the last four years entitled “RAC Chapter One” for release in November 2012.
