Elettrodomestico is a 2 piece band made up of songwriters Jane Wiedlin and Pietro Straccia.

Formed in 2016, the band will release their first album, IF YOU’RE A BOY OR A GIRL, in October 2017.

Jane Wiedlin is best known as guitarist/songwriter of the eighties all-female band The Go-Go's. The Go-Go's, who were part of the original LA punk rock movement, were the first successful all-female band that both wrote their own material AND played their own instruments. Their debut album went to number one on the Billboard charts and the group eventually sold over seven million albums.

Pietro Straccia is a multi-instrumentalist/songwriter who grew up in Detroit and Italy (epiqe, is4i, apside).

Elettrodomestico's elettro/psyche/pop sound has been compared to bands Metric, The Mamas & The Papas, Abba, Garbage, The Flaming Lips, The xx, Phantogram, and Supergrass.

The band came about after Jane and Pietro wrote a song together, "Rabbit Stew", following (and about) the death of David Bowie, in January 2016.
Even though they had no actual artist in mind for the tune, they enjoyed the process so much that they continued writing together for the rest of 2016. By December, they'd amassed enough material for a full-length album and decided to start a band together. Because Pietro is Italian, they came up with the band name Elettrodomestico, which means "appliance" in Italian. This seemed fitting, since the duo use multiple electronic and robotic sounds on their recordings.
While many of the lyrics explore alienation and despair, the sound of the duo is markedly upbeat, with layered guitars, intricate harmonies, and strong drumbeats.

Elettrodomestico spent the summer of 2017 touring Italy and are now gearing up to play shows in the United States till the end of the year.
