THE TIN CAN COLLECTIVE
OUT OCTOBER 6, 2017
The Tin Can Collective is an Indie Rock band from Long Island that Started as the recording project of John Warren in 2010. The album “Armageddon in Retrospect” was independently released. John Warren(Joined by Producer Matt Leonenko) started playing shows with a revolving line up of friends.
The live band consisted of a rotating cast, often band members meeting each other for the first time at the show they were about to play. The performances were chaotic, sometimes a mess, but always heart felt.
Eventually long time live members and contributors, Jess Warren(John’s Sisters) and Kenny Russo joined the band full time. Jess and John began collaborating; writing songs together and the band began to practice.
Mike Costa joined the band in October of 2015 and the band began working on a follow up to their self-titled record. The band recorded “Skeletown” on their own (with the exception of Tom Malinowski recording drums) at John and Jess’ parent’s house.
The album was originally going to be released in 2016 however John was in a serious car accident where he broke and dislocated his elbow, forcing the band to push back the release/tour. John was able to play guitar again in the summer of 2017. Due to scheduling conflicts and his commitment to his band, “Binary Heart” Mike Costa left the band and Brian Kish Joined the band on drums.
