Two-time JUNO award-winning Montreal singer-songwriter Dominique Fils-Aimé is renowned for her rich warm voice and socially engaged writing. Her musical universe, at the crossroads of jazz, soul, and blues, explores the emotional palette of African-American music alongside introspective and contemporary forms.. She crafts her work in cycles, with each trilogy telling a unique chapter in her quest for sonic, creative, and spiritual freedom.

Her first album trilogy, inspired by icons such as Billie Holiday, Nina Simone, and Etta James, shed light on different chapters of this musical history. Nameless (2018), the debut record with its bluesy overtones, explored the silences and pain inherited from the past. Having become a benchmark album for many hi-fi enthusiasts around the world, it led to two sold-out concerts at the Montreal International Jazz Festival in 2018. Her sophomore album, Stay Tuned! (2019), a call for revolution, won the JUNO Award for Vocal Jazz Album of the Year in 2020 and the Félix Award for Best Jazz Album at the ADISQ gala in 2019. It was also Shortlisted for the Polaris Music Prize and named by CBC as one of the 19 best Canadian albums of 2019. Dominique Fils-Aimé was also named a Radio-Canada Jazz Revelation for the 2019-2020 season. In 2021, she concluded her trilogy with Three Little Words (2021), an album focused on reconciliation, acclaimed by international critics and featured once again on the Polaris Music Prize’s Short List.

In 2023, Dominique Fils-Aimé launched her second trilogy, a collection of introspective and intuitive works that began with Our Roots Run Deep (2023). Winner of the 2024 JUNO Award for "Vocal Jazz Album of the Year" and the 2024 Félix Award for "Best Jazz Album" at ADISQ, this volume unfolds as a free, dreamlike narrative on the theme of growth. Nature plays a central role, serving as a metaphor to express the unique yet deeply connected journey of each human being.

In February 2026, Dominique will unveil the second chapter of this cycle with a new studio album My World Is The Sun, preceded by the single Going Home (November 20, 2025). On this project, she focuses on the very essence of the creative process. It reflects her commitment to freedom, to the sonic, creative, and spiritual dimensions as well as her desire to create from a place of honesty and vulnerability.

On stage, she offers an immersive performance that invites audiences to delve into the roots of their soul, guided by a profound quest for connection with the higher self.

Live at the Montreal International Jazz Festival (2025), her first live album, recorded on the festival's main stage in 2024, is a testament to the strength of her stage presence and her ability to forge an intimate connection with her audience.

In recent years, her international reputation has been solidified through prestigious invitations: Jazz à Vienne (where she opened for Jamie Cullum in July 2025), the 2025  North Sea Jazz Festival, the 2025 Jazzablanca Festival in Morocco, as well as her performances at the World Expo 2025 in Osaka, where she represented Canada. In the fall of 2025, she also embarked on her first coast-to-coast U.S. tour, featuring notable concerts at the Blue Note New York, the Blue Note Los Angeles and The Monterey Jazz Festival.

In 2026, Dominique Fils-Aimé will present her new album on stage during a world tour that will take her to Europe including concerts at La Maroquinerie (Paris) and Le Botanique (Brussels) as well as a premiere at  the Montreal International Jazz Festival and another tour in the United States.
